Automatic Updates

Provisio includes functionality which makes it easy to keep the software updated for legislation changes, new functionality and bug fixes.

By default, Provisio will perform a check every time you use it to make sure it is at the most current version. This requires you to be connected to the Internet.

If Provisio detects that you should update your software, it will ask you to confirm the update. It will then download the updates from the Internet and may prompt you to restart Provisio for the updates to take effect.

Configuring When Automatic Updates Occur

To do this, go to the Edit menu -> Preferences and select "Automatic Updates".

Automatic updates preference page

In this section, you can configure how the automatic update happen. For instance, you can specify when the automatic update check occurs (e.g. every time you run Provisio, or at a specified time) and whether Provisio should prompt you before downloading the updates.

Disabling Automatic Updates

While we strongly recommend that you let Provisio check for updates regularly, you may wish to disable the automatic update check.

To do this, go to the Edit menu -> Preferences screen from the previous section and turn off the checkbox next to "Automatically find new updates and notify me".
